RULES GOVERNING

MEN’S COMPETITIONS

1. The Annual Subscription of a member must be paid before the 31^st of March 2026.  Members may enter competitions until that date. From 1^st of April 2026 non-payment of the annual subscription will result in the lapse of membership and suspension of handicap
2. Competitors must have booked on the Timesheet. To enter a competition Members must register their entry on the computer.
3. All cards must be returned immediately on completion of the round.
4. Entries will not be accepted after 5:30pm on the day of competition except at the discretion of the Competition Secretary.
5. The Competitor is responsible for having the following details on their score card
   • Name & Course Handicap
   • Date of Competition
   • Signature of both player and marker
   • A marker is an adult holding a WHS Handicap or a Junior aged 15yrs or over who has attained a handicap Index of 18 or better
6. Members’ scores must be entered on to the computer on completion of the round of golf irrespective of holes played or score recorded. Failure to do so may result in disqualification from entering future Club competitions or suspension of handicap for a period of time.
7. In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined on the basis of the best score for the last nine/six/three holes/18^th hole as per R&A recommendations.
8. In all questions of dispute, the decision of the Committee shall be final and shall be binding on every member.
9. The Committee reserves the right to alter the time, date or format of any competition as necessitated by weather or other conditions.
10. Failure to comply with these rules will result in disqualification from the competition

Competition Restrictions

The Captain’s and President’s prizes are major competitions and may be won only by Full Ordinary members who have played and returned their scorecards in 3 Club competitions during the previous year.

COMPETITIONS ARE RESTRICTED TO MEMBERS OF DONEGAL GOLF CLUB UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED

A MINIMUM OF 30 ENTRIES ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL COMPETITIONS TO STAND AS STATED. IN THE EVENT OF FEWER ENTRIES, ALTERNATIVE ARRANGEMENTS WILL BE MADE AND PRIZES ADJUSTED ACCORDINGLY

• Members who have committed to a Direct Debit Payment Schedule are deemed to have paid their Subscriptions.
