Hole 3
Bell's Isle
The third hole runs parallel to what was once known as Fosters Island. Originally part of the Hamilton estate, the island, as well as the Murvagh peninsula, was purchased by Arthur Foster in the early 1800s. He later renamed the island as Bell’s Island, in memory of his wife, Arabella Hamilton, whom he married on October 30, 1862. The island has been uninhabited since 1937, when Christy Hendry, the last caretaker, passed away.

A sloped green is protected by a greenside bunker and mound to the front. Take enough club to carry to the middle of the green; if you are to miss the green best to err short, leaving an uphill chip and run.
